Together with the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association, Digicel is on a mission to promote awareness for football in the country. For one lucky customer it already paid off with a 40-inch plasma television screen. Three winners were chosen in the recent “Roar to Score” promotion, where two people, James Gabriel from South Caicos and Calvin Francis from Grand Turk, won a $10 credit and a football fan pack. A third grand prize winner, Marylynn Bonhomme, was the lucky winner of a television and is also entered in the overall prize of an all expense paid trip to South Africa to see the World Cup. “Roar to Score” kicked off a series of promotions that Digicel is launching over the next weeks and months to promote interest in the sport of football. “Digicel is a sponsor of FIFA football across the region, and we are hoping to boost interest in football in the Turks and Caicos,” said Ava-Dayne Kerr, head of marketing for Digicel. Digicel will send 32 people from across the Caribbean to the World Cup — one person from each country where Digicel does business. “At the end of each promotion, one winner will be entered into the grand prize drawing, and one person from the Turks and Caicos will be going to South Africa in July,” Kerr said. Entry is simple. Just watch for promotions, and use a Digicel phone as required.
