With less than three short weeks to go, Providenciales and Grand Turk finally have names for their new hospitals. While both are under the umbrella Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital, each satellite centre will have its own name. Keeping in touch with the local heritage, the Grand Turk hospital was named the Cockburn Town Medical Centre. In Providenciales, the hospital will be known as the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre. On Monday, March 28, the public will have an opportunity to tour the centres. Tours will be offered to the public in both facilities at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday. The tours will give visitors a sneak peak of the facilities before they officially open their doors to the public on April 10. James Trainor, chief of Support Services, will be guiding the tours in the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales. For health and safety reasons, the groups will be limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, he said.
