![]() LisaRaye’s new reality series “The Real McCoy” debuted April 8 to a record breaking audience on TV One. In back-to-back episodes that were reported to draw nearly 1.6 million total viewers, LisaRaye held a party for herself where she showed up three hours late and played diva almost canceling a fashion show. Episode 2 focused on her divorce from former Premier Michael Misick and the life of her daughter Kai Morae. McCoy involved Rev. Al Sharpton, an American Baptist minister, civil rights activist and radio talk show host, to help her in securing her divorce settlement. McCoy said although the divorce is final, Misick has not coughed up any of the settlement agreed upon. “With what I put on the side (my career) to come and help this small country bring awareness to tourism there ... I did that and I did that well. So for me to be going through what I am going through just to get my money out of this situation (this divorce) ... it makes me mad,” McCoy said . Misick and McCoy, who married in 2006, finalized their divorce just weeks ago, but McCoy says he won’t do what he needs to do to get her “off his plate” so they both can move on with their lives. McCoy spent the rest of the 30-minute show trying to find out more about daughter Kai’s boyfriend and grilling her about her sex life. She was impressed by the young man when he visited her in her Los Angeles home commenting, “He is a handsome young man. My mother used to say, the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice, and I love a dark-skinned man.” Ratings for the second episode improved, gaining an additional 20 percent audience. “We felt from the beginning that LisaRaye’s amazing life story, coupled with her unusual candor, style, beauty and determination, was something that would resonate with our audience, and we’re delighted that we were proved right,” said Toni Judkins, TV One senior vice president of original programming, in a statement. “The good news is, our viewers have a lot more of LisaRaye to look forward to, and we’re confident that she — and the show — will continue to deliver for them.”
