The Consultative Forum will host an open discussion May 25 for individuals and organizations interested in constitutional and electoral reform.

The forum will hold a special meeting Tuesday, May 25, in Grand Turk at the NJS Francis Building. Any organization or individual wishing to present their views on constitutional electoral reform can attend. In addition to forum members, the constitutional and electoral reform adviser Kate Sullivan will be present. The meeting will be open to the media.

Following the May 25 meeting, forum members have also agreed to chair public meetings on their own islands to enable more people to participate in the consultation process.

Forum Chairperson Lillian Misick encourages all interested parties to attend.

“The Consultative Forum is pleased to be able to provide a mechanism for organizations in the community to share their views on the constitutional and electoral reform,” Misick said. “The new arrangements will affect our whole community for many years to come, and we must participate now.”

The constitutional and electoral reform adviser Kate Sullivan thanked the forum members for their assistance as she begins to gather the views of the TCI community.

“These discussions and meetings will provide an opportunity for organizations and individuals to contribute while the review is in its initial stages,” Sullivan said. “I plan to offer more opportunities for community input as this work progresses.”

Sullivan said the public can submit their views by post to P.O. Box 68, Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands, BWI, or by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Persons interested in attending can contact the forum’s secretariat at 946-2436, by fax at 946-2437, or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
