All of Providenciales lost power Monday for about an hour when a fault caused all generators to stop power production. “At approximately 8:28 a.m. PPC Ltd. experienced island-wide unscheduled power interruption throughout its service territories, which was triggered by a fault on Feeder3 switchgear at the plant substation,” PPC said in a statement. “The fault caused all generator breakers to engage and trip, resulting in loss of power supply to the entire system. “The damaged switchgear for Feeder3 had to be isolated before electricity supply could be restored, and this work was completed at approximately 9:10 a.m. “PPC apologies to its customers for any inconvenience caused and advises that the company is also reviewing solutions to avoid any reoccurrences.”
