TCI police officers honored PDF Print E-mail

During the Queen’s Birthday celebrations in Grand Turk recently, several members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force were honoured for their dedication to the service.

On Saturday, June 12, seven police officers were bestowed with the Colonial Police Long Service Medal, which is granted in reward for long service and good conduct to members of all ranks of the police who have served more than 18 years of continuous service.

On behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, His Excellency the Gov. Gordon Wetherell presented the following individuals with the medal recognizing their dedication to the police and to their service for their country.

  • Acting Superintendent of Police Wayne Jones — 30 years
  • Senior Sergeant of Police Amos O’Garro — 30 years
  • Inspector of Police Kingsley Laborde — 25 years
  • Inspector of Police Kendall Grant — 18 years
  • Inspector of Police Pascal Bacchus — 18 years
  • Acting Woman Inspector of Police Irene Butterfield — 18 years
  • Police Constable Esmond Dick — 18 years
