LIME recently hosted a breakfast in Grand Turk at the Bohio Restaurant where more than 40 members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Police were honoured for their hard work and dedication to fighting crime.

LIME General Manager Drexwell Seymour recognized the work that they have done to date in spite of the limited tools and resources. “Police officers risk their lives to help us and many times that goes unnoticed and unrecognized,” he said.

In addition to showing their appreciation to the officers, LIME provided tools and solutions to combat and alleviate crime in TCI.

During the breakfast with the commissioner, Seymour informed the police officers that “LIME will partner with the department to provide solutions to reduce the crime in TCI such as the implementation of CCTV (closed circuit television).”

Hall thanked LIME for its continuous partnership with the police department.

“It is tools such as CCTV that help solve many crimes throughout the world, and because TCI does not have it. It appears that other police officers in other jurisdictions are quick to solve some of the crimes. However, if we had the CCTV, a lot of crimes would be resolved.”

There was a series of give-a-ways at the breakfast where officers got the opportunity to win handsets, top ups and BlackBerry devices.

LIME’s Vice President of Corporate Sales Delleriece Hall presented the police department with three desktop computers for the Police Training School, with another three that would also be donated. The vote of thanks was moved by Althea Been, LIME’s vice president of residential sales.

He noted that a similar event would be held in the island of Providenciales.
