| Police round up 177 illegal immigrants |

Law enforcement officers have apprehended 177 illegal immigrants during an operation called “Alpha One” throughout Providenciales since Wednesday, Aug. 4. Residents across the island saw police stopping people and vehicles last week, checking legal documentation. Among those apprehended were 114 male Haitians, 47 female Haitians, seven male Dominicans, eight female Dominicans and one male Jamaican. They will be processed before been repatriated, police said.
