Two people have died in unrelated incidents on Grace Bay and Turtle Tail, police confirm. On Tuesday morning, Sept. 21, a resident of Long Bay Hills discovered the body of a female Filipino national on Long Bay Beach on Providenciales. The woman, who worked for Richard and Tracey Padgett in Turtle Tail, had been missing since she went snorkeling Monday afternoon. “Our family is deeply upset by the tragic circumstances in which Maydeline died yesterday,” said Tracey Padgett said Tuesday. “We like her friends had an anxious overnight wait for news of her fate, ultimately ending in the finding of her body this morning. “She had worked for the family for 18 months and was a lovely, young, hardworking lady and an asset to our household. We are all still in shock and saddened by these recent events. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family in the Philippines whom we have been in contact with.” In a separate, unrelated incident, a 63-year-old male visitor who had been snorkeling in the vicinity of Coral Gardens resort experienced difficulties Friday morning, Sept. 17. He was taken by ambulance to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is to be performed to determine the cause of death.
