An exciting and innovative new pilot program has been launched to help the children of the Caribbean become all they can be as future adults and citizens of the world. The program, called Caribbeanexams.com is based on children using their computers to take exams preparing them for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE), Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), the Grade Nine Achievement Test (GNAT), and the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT). The goal is to give students a tool to use at their own pace and for their own individual needs.
Here in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the program has been specifically designed to help students grades 4 to 6 prepare for GSAT exams. The program prepares students in areas such as Math, English Language, and Science. Educational Officer Keydeen Miles said that she is particularly enthusiastic about the Social Studies program being specifically tailored to the students of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The CaribbeanExams.com system features full-length, timed, computer-adaptive tests whose delivery simulates that of the actual exam. It includes actual past questions, homework help, teacher monitored chat rooms, and resources for parents, comprehensive review sections, as well as a 24/7 online help desk. There is no limit to the number of times a student can attempt each of the many practice tests in each subject area. The Turks and Caicos Government has Partnered with CaribbeanExams.com as a proactive learning tool in its ongoing efforts to put education first and foremost to help the children of the country.
