As part of the requirements of the National Energy Policy Terms of Reference a survey is currently being conducted to assess the willingness of electricity consumers and property owners to pay for improved energy efficiency appliances, equipment and small scale renewable technologies.
The survey is currently being conducted online and the Turks and Caicos Islands Government Energy Policy Technical Committee along with the consultant, Castalia, is asking electricity consumers, property and business owners and building designers to participate. The survey takes less than five minutes and is intended to assess the potential for and barriers to the penetration of these technologies in the local market. No personal information is requested and the data gathered is expected to help guide the formulation of the new energy policy for the TCI. To participate in the survery, visit the DECR’s website at (www.environment.tc)
