Police briefs: Police investigating death of infant in 5 Cays house fire PDF Print E-mail

Police are investigating a fire of unknown origin which destroyed a wooden structure apartment in Five Cays on Providenciales in the early morning  hours of June 14.

A 2-year-old boy died in the fire, which was extinguished by members of the Fire and Rescue Department.

A post mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death of the infant.

The police department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.

Four charged after cocaine, marijuana seized in Bight

Police have charged four people with multiple drug offenses after cocaine and marijuana were seized June 5 during the search of a residence in the Bight.

Ronald Dorelus, Ales Saintil, William Noel and Clarah Noel were charged with three counts of possession of cannabis, three counts of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, two counts of possession of cocaine and one count of possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

The four subjects appeared in the Providenciales  Magistrate’s Court on June 9, when they pleaded not guilty. William Noel and Clarah Noel were granted bail, while Saintil and Dorelus were remanded to at Her Majesty’s Prison on Grand Turk pending a hearing in Magistrate’s Court.

Two charged for robberies on Leeward Highway

Two men have been charged for robbing people June 1 on Leeward Highway, police said.

Jimmy Harris and Stephen Joseph appeared in the Providenciales Magistrate’s Court and were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison on Grand Turk pending a hearing in the Supreme Court.

Kew Town burglary suspect remanded to prison

Police have charged a man for the burglary of a business in Kew Town.

Alexander Duncanson appeared in the Providenciales Magistrate’s Court and has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until Grand Turk pending a hearing in the Supreme Court.
