Police charge mother in toddler fire death PDF Print E-mail

Police have charged the mother of a two-year-old boy who died in a fire June 14 in a Five Cays apartment.

Deidre Forbes of Providenciales was charged with cruelty to a juvenile in connection with her son’s death, police said. At a hearing June 24, she was remanded to custody for further hearings in the Supreme Court.

The fire occurred in the early morning hours of June 14 and was extinguished by members of the Fire and Rescue Department.

The police department’s Criminal Investigation Division conducted the investigation.
