The National Health Insurance Board has chosen Zaneta Adderley-Burton to take over management of the National Health Insurance Program from current CEO Brian Hogan.

“The new CEO, who is the spouse of a Turks and Caicos Islander, brings many years of practical experience in social security administration at the managerial level, and has previously worked with the National Insurance Board (NIB) of the Bahamas in senior management positions,” the Turks and Caicos Islands government announced June 24.

“Whilst working for the Bahamian NIB, Mrs. Adderley-Burton was also a senior member of the technical team set up to manage the implementation of a comprehensive National Health Insurance Plan (NHIP).”

The governor approved Adderley-Burton’s appointment after a public recruitment process by the NHIB board.

“TCIG would also like to record its thanks to Brian Hogan for the significant contribution he has made to the implementation and management of the NHIB during his tenure, and to wish him well for the future,” the government said.

Hogan oversaw implementation of the government-mandated National Health Insurance Program which went into operation in April 2010 and currently insures more than 30,000 people in the TCI.

Adderley-Burton will begin June 30 taking over from Hogan, who departs July 31.
