The Turks and Caicos Friends of the Arts Foundation is bringing residents yet another entertaining performance.

This time it will be a elegant evening of inspirational, blues, jazz and classical music from TCI’s own Addison Stoddard in a recital called Addison and Friends, an Evening of Music. The show is scheduled at Brayton Hall on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 7-10 p.m.

Stoddard is a well-known TCI tenor and co-director of the TCI Youth Chorale. He welcomes three of his talented friends from St. Vincent to the stage. Addison’s guest artists include pianist Sean Sutherland and sopranos Antonia “Tanny” Ross and Liesl Gaye Gajadhar.

Stoddard has taken part in many performances on the island, including Hopelessly Romantic, and an Evening of Voices. Addison is warmly remembered as lovable Jim Chowder in the panto Pirates of the Turks and Caicos, Legend of the Black Conch, and King Triton in The Little Caribbean Mermaid and the Enchanted Ring.

Sutherland is a pianist who was trained in music and engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was the musical director of the Rhythmix Steel Orchestra of St. Vincent and was instrumental in arranging music for an all-classical recital called “Ivory and Steel.” This concert featured masterpieces, such as the first movement of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and the entire Mozart 21st Piano Concerto. In August 2009, Sutherland also performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the National Sinfornia Orchestra of Trinidad.

Ross is a soprano singer in the Edna Manley College Choir, St. Vincent, and has performed at Kings House, Ocho Rios Jazz Festival, Pegasus Hotel, Residence of the British High Commission, Up on the Roof restaurant, one of the famous golf clubs in Montego Bay, Christopher’s and Kabana Restaurant.

Gajadhar is a soprano originally from Barbados whose performances include the official opening of the West Wing of Parliament, a member of the cast of Tosca and the Mikado at Holders Opera Season in Barbados, as well as several recitals at home and solo performances in St. Lucia, Guyana and New York. Gaye is an active member of The Myriad Singers of Barbados, an elite group of musicians.

A special thank you goes out to the British West Indies Collegiate for providing the TCFAF with the use of Brayton Hall since its completion in 2002.

Tickets are on sale at the Unicorn Bookstore and Saltmills Diner for $25 for adults, $10 for students $10 and $45 for balcony.
