![]() What started as a one-man protest on the morning of Oct. 19 grew into a small crowd of people holding signs objecting to policies of the interim government and demanding the governor’s Advisory Council be abolished. Dr. Rufus Ewing, director of Medical Services for the Ministry of Health and Human Services, and the group stood on Leeward Highway at the road leading to a meeting of the council. After the meeting, His Excellency the Gov. Ric Todd stopped briefly on his way out to speak to Ewing. Ewing has been outspoken on issues including public service reform and the health care system, but he recently announced his resignation effective in March so that he could speak more freely on various important issues.
