![]() Radio listeners from across the United States were treated to a slice of the Turks and Caicos Islands this week when thousands of listeners tuned in to hear some of their favorite radio personalities broadcast from the Italian Village at Beaches Resorts Turks and Caicos. The “luxury included” resort and Turks and Caicos Islands sizzled across airwaves as DJs from eight radio stations indulged listeners while promoting the island as the premiere vacation destination. The resort targeted top-ranked, mainstream stations in some high-interest markets such as New York, Miami and Boston and also new markets that may have never heard of the TCI. They also hit almost every format from adult contemporary and sports to classic rock, classic hits, oldies, jazz and easy listening. “Turks and Caicos is really beautiful, it’s not hard at all to convince my listeners to come to here,” said Dan Taylor, host of the Dan Taylor Morning show on New York’s WCBS-FM 101.1. “We are using all the latest technologies from Facebook to Twitter and our station website WCBSFM.com to not only promote this lovely island but also paint a picture on the radio of how beautiful the waters are here.” The 2011 radio remote also included Miami’s WMIA-FM 93.9 Michelle and Jonny in the morning, Chicago’s WLS-FM Dave Fogel, Dallas’ KLUV-FM Jody Dean and the Morning Team, Miami’s Kiss Country WKIS-FM with Darlene Evans, Philadelphia’s WIOQ-FM with Romeo, Atlanta’s WWWQ-FM with host Jonny O and Boston’s WODS-FM with host JJ Wright.
