 Fodor’s, the leading name in travel guides, celebrated its 75th anniversary with a re-imagined Fodor’s 100 Hotel Awards, and Turks and Caicos Islands’ Amanyara Resort is represented on the coveted list. At an awards ceremony Nov. 10 in New York City, Fodor’s recognized the world’s top 100 resorts in eight categories, including Luxurious Retreat, where Amanyara was noted for being the perfect place for a complete escape. “Our editors and writers travel the globe each year to scout hotels, and the Fodor’s 100 Hotel Awards represent the best of the best,” says Arabella Bowen, executive editorial director of Fodor’s Travel. “Fodor’s understands that choosing where to stay is one of the most important decisions a traveler makes, and we believe these 100 hotels deliver the style, service and quality that our discerning travelers seek.” Amanyara on the northwestern coast of Providenciales was said by Fodor’s editors and travel experts to be secluded, chic, elegant and peaceful. “The luxurious Amanyara is situated on one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful islands,” Fodor’s says of the top resort on its website where the Fodor’s 100 Hotel Award 2011 winners are featured. The Fodor’s 100 Hotel Awards 2011 were determined by Fodor’s editors and travel experts, highlighting excellent service and stylish accommodations they say make every hotel stay unforgettable. The selection process for the Fodor’s 100 required months of deliberations. Fodor’s writers and editors nominated several hundred hotel properties, representing the world’s best in the specified categories. From there, a team of senior editors at Fodor’s narrowed the list down to the top 100. Amanyara was selected as a top choice for a complete escape in the Luxurious Retreat category, which included 14 of the world’s best destination resorts.
