Crime briefs: 14 Haitians arrested with cannabis on boat PDF Print E-mail

Fourteen Haitian nationals were arrested Jan. 9 after law enforcement officers on Grand Turk found what appeared to be a quantity of cannabis while searching a boat.

Customs and immigration officers carried out the search on a vessel at South Dock on Grand Turk.

Ten males and four females on the vessel were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

Man gets 18 months in prison for Provo burglary

A 40-year-old man was sentenced to 18 months in prison just two days after he committed a burglary.

Neal Rigby was charged with burglary in connection with a report made on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

He appeared in the Providenciales Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, Jan. 5, when he plead guilty and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Teen accused of Grand Turk aggravated burglary

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated burglary in connection with a report made on Jan. 4 on Grand Turk.

Tre Forbes was remanded in police custody until Jan. 12, when he was schedule to appear in Grand Turk Magistrate’s Court.
