Lobster season extended until April 30 PDF Print E-mail

The acting Turks and Caicos Islands Gov. Patrick Boyle announced April 3 that the end of lobster season would be extended from its traditional end in March until the end of April.

The current is season started one month late on Sept. 1, 2011, because of the low number of lobsters taken during the preceding season.

“Please be made aware that any persons found with lobsters after (April 30) will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” an announcement from the Ministry of Environment and Home Affairs and Department of Environment and Coastal Resources remind the public.

The season will open again Aug. 1.
