Even when he is on vacation, Kevin Wayne Johnson is working to spread the word of God.

Johnson, a U.S. national best-selling book author, was recently in the Turks and Caicos Islands to participate in the wedding of friends at Beaches Resort and Spa. During his one-week vacation on Providenciales, he took time to sign copies of his latest book at the Pentecost Bookstore.

“I always reach out to local bookstores when I travel,” Johnson said during a book signing event May 4.

The Pentecost bookstore carries several of the eight books Johnson wrote as part of his Give God the Glory Series.

“I used to write articles in my job, which lead me to other opportunities,” Johnson explained as to how he became a book author.

His books have earned 17 literary awards since 2001, all published through his Christian-based publishing company — Writing for the Lord Ministries. Each book in the series covers a different area of life including relationships, workplace, family and church.

“They offer teaching tools in those five key areas on how to put God first,” he said.

Johnson said he is also hoping to help readers develop a closer relationship with God and help spread his word. “This is not about me,” he noted.
Johnson and his wife Gail said they were enjoying their first trip to the islands. “It is beautiful,” he said.

During his visit he also spent time at the Bethany Baptist Church in Blue Hills speaking on the topic of “Giving God the Glory in Our Families“ during their Sunday morning worship service.
