A suspended police constable has been convicted of the attempted rape of a 27-year-old Grand Turk woman. Williamson Premillien, 26, was found guilty following four-day trial in the Supreme Court. He has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison and will return to court May 25 for sentencing. Two tourists robbed of back pack at North West Point Two tourists walking on the beach at North West Point had their back pack stolen by a man who jumped out at them from the bushes. The culprit, who took the back pack May 8, is described as dark-skinned, wearing a white T-shirt and brown pants. Police seek armed robbers in Long Bay Hills incident Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Long Bay Hills. A local businessman and his companion were approached by two masked gunmen in the driveway of their home in early hours of May 5. They were threatened with handguns before being robbed of cash, mobile phones, a computer and other items. The culprits, who are both described as dark-skinned, 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing black clothing and ski masks, escaped in a white jeep. A RTCI Police spokesman said: “This was a particularly nasty robbery although fortunately no one was hurt during the incident." Police seek owners of abandoned vehicles Motorists are being urged to lay claim to a number of vehicles currently stored at the RTCI Police pound on Providenciales. Owners are warned that failure to do so will result in them being sold off at auction. The vehicles, which range from cars to trucks and jeeps, were seized by officers after being abandoned by their drivers and have been unclaimed for more than a year. The 14-day notice, which is effective from May 11, will be followed by a public auction at which all the vehicles will be sold. Grand Turk thieves make off with six cases of rum, gin Thieves made off with six cases of rum and a number of bottles of gin after breaking into E&R Supermarket on Grand Turk. The theft happened between 10.30 p.m. on May 1 and 7 a.m. May 2.
