Digicel CEO Saunders is Going Mad
Last week, local telecommunications company, Digicel celebrated its 3rd anniversary doing business in the Turks and Caicos. Digicel TCI CEO E. Jay Saunders is celebrating this momentous occasion by giving away $50,000 to one lucky Digicel customer. Saunders calls the promotion ‘Mad Money’.

“Over the last three years, TCI’s Bigger, Better Network has consistently delivered the best value to our customers through a wide range of innovative products and services” Saunders said, “’Mad Money’ is another example of a truly competitive offer that is unbeaten in the mobile market.”

In addition to the ‘Mad Money’ promotion, Digicel has launched a slew of other local promotions to show their customers appreciation. Digicel started the crazy month of promotions with the announcement of the ‘Guess the Number’ text promotion offering a chance to win the much sought after Blackberry Storm. Digicel has been focusing their promotions on the usage of its local customer’s needs, such as the ‘Free after 3’ or the ‘$15 for 500 minutes’ promotions, offering 500 minutes of calls locally and to the US and Canada for mere $15. For the second promotion focused on local customer needs, Digicel has reduced their rates to any network based in Haiti.

On Saturday, Digicel hyped up their ‘Mad Money’ initiative at the Children’s Bight Park where Saunders was on stage giving away free minutes, top ups, t-shirts, fans and much more. The community came out in record numbers to help Saunders celebrate his madness, even dancing on their heads alongside him. And the best thing about ‘Mad Money’: it’s simple and ties directly into the preceding promotions! All that Digicel customers have to do is make use of one of the following:

  1. Make a Free after 3 minute call
  2. Activate the $15 for 500 min plan
  3. Top up with $10 or more
  4. Activate any post-paid plan.

Most of the Digicel promotions run until the end of the summer. However, Digicel marketing assistant Turkesa Rolle assured customers it won’t end there. “There is much more to come from Digicel,” she said, “you never know what we will do next.” I guess, we will all just have to wait and see.
