Residents and business owners who opposed Value Added Taxes (VAT) in the Turks and Caicos Islands are celebrating the news that VAT is no longer on the table as means of raising government revenue, at least for now. The decision was revealed by the Premier Hon. Rufus Ewing in a television interview Monday night, Feb. 25, news he received via a formal letter from the Foreign Commonwealth Office Minister, Mark Simmonds.
Criminal activity continues to decline in the Turks and Caicos Islands, according to a report released by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Feb. 21.
